Upstream operations form the core of K-NEFT's activities. The company focuses on responsible resource development, field optimization and sustainable production practices to ensure the long-term viability of hydrocarbon reserves.

Exploration and field development activities involve the identification and evaluation of hydrocarbon resources through geological and geophysical studies. K-NEFT conducts reservoir analysis, structural mapping and technical assessments to determine the most efficient production strategies for each field area. Field development strategies are implemented gradually to balance production growth with long-term reservoir sustainability and operational safety.

Many hydrocarbon fields contain wells that were previously drilled but require technical upgrades or rehabilitation before production can begin. K-NEFT specializes in restoring these wells to operational status through equipment replacement, structural reinforcement, cleaning of wellbores and improvements to pumping systems. By activating existing wells, K-NEFT increases production capacity efficiently while reducing environmental impact and operational costs.

K-NEFT manages the full production process from wellhead extraction to primary treatment and storage. The extracted crude oil undergoes primary processing at field facilities where impurities and water are separated before storage. Continuous monitoring systems track production rates, pressure conditions and equipment performance to ensure reliable operations.

Hydrocarbon production requires extensive supporting infrastructure. K-NEFT develops and maintains pipelines, storage tanks, pumping systems and other essential field facilities designed to support both current production levels and future expansion phases.
